Getting started

No electrician or tools needed. Before first use, place the lantern in direct sunlight for a full day so the battery can charge fully. Choose a spot where the solar panel on the lid gets as much daylight as possible and is away from street lights or security lights, which can stop it switching on at night.

Care

Wipe gently with a soft, damp cloth and keep the solar panel clean and free from leaves, frost and dust so it charges well. Avoid abrasive cleaners.

Good to know

• In the UK winter, shorter days and cloudy weather mean less charge, so the light may last fewer hours than in summer. This is normal for all solar lights.
• The shadow pattern shows best against a nearby wall, fence or surface in a dark spot.
• Please allow 1–2 cm variation in measurements. Colours may look slightly different depending on your screen settings.
